How It Works

We are often asked how a whisky festival actually works, well it's quite simple really. All you need to do is the following:

1. Purchase a ticket in advance
2. Turn up on the day
3. Approach the stand that has the whisky or gin you want to try
4. Ask for a sample (no extra cost)
5. Have a chat with the exhibitors and/or fellow whisky/gin lovers (optional but recommended)

We will supply you with a tasting glass that has been designed specifically to get the most out of the whisky, which you can also take home with you at the end of the festival. There will be a few snacks laid out that can be used to cleanse your palate between drams along with bottles of water to help keep you hydrated throughout the festival.

Who are we and Why have we done it?

Organised by 2 local whisky enthusiasts, Chris Knight and Neil Rowley; we wanted a way to give fellow enthusiasts, and new comers alike, the chance to taste new whiskies from a wide range of distillers from around the world, along with some fantastic offerings from independent bottlers.

With the increased popularity of gins over recent years, we also wanted to raise people's awareness of the fantastic products now available. There will be a number of gins available at the festival, giving you a chance to try new gins from some of the many artisan distillers.
